Clowe Draws Interest LeBrun reported Thursday afternoon that New Jersey and Montreal were among several suitors for Ryane Clowe. He adds that the Habs are out of the hunt, while the Devils remain very interested in Clowe. Leafs Looking At The Market Dreger told TSN Radio 1050 that the Toronto Maple Leafs are very keen on free agent winger David Clarkson and have also expressed interest in defenceman Rob Scuderi. Dreger says Clarkson is going to get a handsome contract perhaps somewhere north of $6 million per year, but Toronto will only sign Clarkson "if the fit is right financially." Ottawa Senators GM Bryan Murray confirmed Thursday that the club has met with Clarkson. Bidding for Bozak LeBrun also reports that the Toronto Maple Leafs are still in the mix to re-signing Tyler Bozak, but the Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Anaheim Ducks and Detroit Red Wings are among the other teams that have kicked the tires on the free agent centre. LeBrun suspects that Bozak is seeking a deal of five years or more. Dreger adds that Bozaks negotiation with the Maple Leafs could impact Phil Kessels future with the club as well. Dreger asked aloud on Twitter that if Bozak goes, is Kessel as eager to re-sign in Toronto? Also, look for the Dallas Stars to be a contender for his services. Motor City Market LeBrun thinks that free agent centre Stephen Weiss would be the No. 1 option for Detroit going into Friday, but Bozak is in there as well. Meanwhile, the Red Wings still talking to free agent forward Valtteri Filppula. Angling For Alfie Lots of teams have reached out to long-time Ottawa Senator captain Daniel Alfredsson and while Boston has been the most aggressive of the new suitors, LeBrun reports that with so many Swedish connection, Detroit was among teams that also called. Windy City Return? Dreger reports that there is action on Chicago Blackhawks goalie Ray Emery. The Flyers, Islanders, and Oilers are believed to be chasing, while the Blackhawks are also in discussions to re-sign the 30-year-old netminder. Canucks Standing Pat? Brad Ziemer of The Vancouver Sun writes that Keith Ballards compliance buyout gives the Canucks almost $7.5 million of cap space, but they still have to fill out seven spots on their 23-man roster. Ziemer adds that defenceman Chris Tanev, a restricted free agent, could more than double last seasons $900,000 salary. That, along with getting Dale Weise locked up leaves the Canucks with about $5 million on five players. As a result, Ziemer writes that theyre not expected to pitch for names like Jarome Iginla, David Clarkson, Ryane Clowe and Nathan Horton. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- A Dallas police report, which was released Friday and includes a narrative of last months shooting of Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib, didnt shed much light on the incident.Talib was shot once in his right leg in the early-morning hours of June 5, the report shows. Talib informed police he didnt know who shot him, and a witness said he had been with Talib in a large group of people in a park when he heard one gunshot. The witness said he then found Talib on the ground and took the cornerback to the hospital.The narrative listed on the report seems to dispel the speculation that Talib shot himself, offering that Talib had been shot by an unknown suspect.?The bullet, according to the police report, entered Talibs right thigh and exited his right calf. Police were not notified until Talib had been taken to a hospital in a 2015 Rolls Royce, according to the report.The report does not say whether Talib had a weapon. One gram of marijuana was found during the investigation, but the report doees not say whether the marijuana belonged to Talib.ddddddddddddo charges have been filed, and the investigation by Dallas police remains open.
